The Story Behind the Scent

Montale built Black Aoud around the classic pairing of rose and oud, but turned the volume all the way up. The idea was to create something opulent and uncompromising, a Middle Eastern inspired scent with Western polish.

The result became a benchmark for rose and oud fragrances everywhere. It is dark, a little animalic, and deeply luxurious, the kind of scent that fills a room. Our interpretation keeps that same intensity, from the rich rose opening to the smoky, resinous oud base.
