Arabians Tonka, inspired by Montale Arabians Tonka (2019)

Bergamot and saffron give a brief, spiced lift, then rose and oud take over the middle. The tonka bean, a seed that smells of almond, hay and vanilla, is what sets this apart from Montale's darker ouds: with brown sugar it pulls the whole composition toward the gourmand. Leather and oakmoss add grip in the base, with amber and white musk underneath, so the sweetness never floats free.

About the original

Arabians Tonka joined Montale's Arabians line in 2019, and the brand now names it among its bestsellers. It is a separate fragrance from the original Arabians and from other members of the collection such as Arabians Musk. Montale describes it as a sweet gourmand-oriental and also sells a matching body cream and candle.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Montale stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Sweet oud is the whole point, so it fits wearers who enjoy amber-vanilla richness with some leather behind it. Sugar-averse noses, or anyone who wants oud kept dry and woody, will probably find it heavy.

Is Arabians Tonka the same as Montale Arabians?

No. Arabians is an older, separate scent; Arabians Tonka is a 2019 addition to the same line, built around tonka and brown sugar.

How sweet is Arabians Tonka?

Quite sweet. Tonka, sugar and amber shape its character, and the oud and leather add depth without cutting the sweetness.
