Cassiopea, inspired by Tiziana Terenzi Cassiopea (2015)

Blackcurrant and lemon give Cassiopea a tart, sparkling start, and a fern accord adds a cool, leafy greenness. Passionflower contributes a faintly exotic fruitiness before the flowers arrive. Carnation brings a clove-like spice to the heart, with tea rose and lily of the valley keeping it fresh and petal-like. Tonka bean and sandalwood make a calm landing, and musk keeps it clean.

About the original

Cassiopea came out in 2015 as part of Tiziana Terenzi's Luna Collection of extraits, alongside Andromeda, Draco and Orion. Paolo Terenzi is usually credited as perfumer. It follows the floral chypre pattern, a green, fruity top set against a dry, woody base. The house also sells a candle under the same name; this page refers to the perfume.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Tiziana Terenzi stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Fans of older-style floral chypres will find the shape familiar, though the fruit and fern make it greener than many. Carnation's spice gives the florals backbone. Anyone hoping for a sugary or gourmand floral may find it too dry.

Only lightly. Blackcurrant and tonka add some sweetness, but carnation and the green fern note keep it on the dry side.
