Hacivat

Hacivat, inspired by Nishane Hacivat (2017)

Pineapple leads, tart and tropical, with grapefruit and bergamot adding a bitter citrus edge. The heart turns greener and darker as jasmine, patchouli and cedarwood come forward. Oakmoss then takes over with clearwood and dry timberwood, modern woody materials that read clean and slightly earthy. That mossy base is what sets it apart from lighter fruity woody scents.

About the original

Nishane released Hacivat in 2017, and the perfumer is usually credited as Jorge Lee. It belongs to the Shadow Play trilogy, named after a character from traditional Turkish shadow theatre, where Hacivat is paired with Karagöz. The house classes it as a citrus chypre with woody undertones. It is frequently compared with Creed Aventus, though Hacivat puts more weight on oakmoss. A 2023 flanker, Hacivat X, is a separate scent.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Nishane stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Fruit-forward but grounded, it suits wearers who want a lively opening that settles into something mossy and serious. Pineapple-shy buyers should note that the fruit is prominent at first.

Nishane sells Hacivat as an Extrait de Parfum, which is the reference here. Ours is an eau de parfum in 50 or 100 ml.

Is this Hacivat or Hacivat X?

The original Hacivat from 2017. Hacivat X (2023) is a separate flanker.
