Draco

Draco, inspired by Tiziana Terenzi Draco (2015)

A citrus top of bergamot, lemon and orange, edged with green notes, gives Draco a fresh start that soon mellows. Peach and pear then bring a ripe, rounded fruitiness, with jasmine and magnolia adding a floral glow and patchouli and cedar a woody seam. In the drydown, heliotrope, a flower with an almond-and-powder scent, joins vanilla and tonka over musk. Sweet, yet rounded rather than sticky.

About the original

Draco was released in 2015 as one of Tiziana Terenzi's Luna Collection extraits. The brand's story for it evokes a night spent in a cave house in Matera, in southern Italy. Paolo Terenzi is the perfumer usually named for the line. Sources disagree on whether peach and pear sit in the heart or the base.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Tiziana Terenzi stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Comfort is the point here: fruit, powder and vanilla make it cosy rather than crisp. Some wearers find the fruit a little synthetic in tone, which matters if natural-smelling fruit is a priority.

Yes, though most accounts describe it as sweet without being cloying. The sweetness comes from pear, peach, vanilla and tonka rather than caramel or sugar notes.

How does Draco differ from Cassiopea?

Both belong to the Luna Collection. Draco is a fruity, powdery oriental with peach, pear and vanilla, while Cassiopea is a drier floral chypre built on carnation and rose.
