Kisses Don’T Lie, inspired by By Kilian Kisses Don't Lie (2014)

Kisses Don't Lie is a rose built on contrast: pink pepper and bergamot at the top, then Grasse rose and violet with the green, cucumber-like snap of violet leaf. Raspberry in the base adds a jammy fruitiness, myrrh a balsamic, slightly medicinal resin, and papyrus a dry, woody edge. Many database listings also include dark chocolate in the heart, although the note list published at launch did not, so how gourmand it reads is open to question.

About the original

By Kilian released Kisses Don't Lie in February 2014 as part of The Art of Love, a quartet of Valentine's scents with Killing Me Softly, Dangerously in Love and Criminal of Love. The collection launched exclusively for the Russian market, with bottles inspired by a Fabergé egg. Its composition is usually credited to Alberto Morillas and Fabrice Pellegrin. It is a different fragrance from Kilian's A Kiss from a Rose.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not By Kilian stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Someone who enjoys sweet, fruity roses with a resinous base is the likely match. The raspberry and possible chocolate facet make it more confectionery than classic, which may disappoint if you are looking for a dry, traditional rose.
