A Kiss From A Rose

A Kiss From A Rose, inspired by Kilian A Kiss from a Rose (2021)

Kilian frames this rose as petals against thorns, and the green vegetal accord at the top supplies the thorns: leafy, sappy, a little bitter. Rose de Mai, the May rose grown around Grasse, then opens out, with jasmine sambac lending a fuller, slightly fruity floral note. The finish is airy, white musk over cypriol, a grassy root with an earthy, woody smell.

About the original

Alberto Morillas created A Kiss from a Rose with founder Kilian Hennessy, and it launched in 2021 in the house's Narcotics collection of flower-led scents. The brand, now styled KILIAN PARIS, sells it as a unisex fragrance. Its short note list has no oud, resins or fruit, which sets it apart from heavier rose styles.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Kilian stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Unisex by design, it leans fresh and clean, with green notes keeping the rose from turning sweet. A rich, jammy or smoky rose this is not, and it may seem too green to those who want one.
