Iris comes first, cool and rooty, with the dry, lipstick-like powderiness the note is known for. Heliotropin, a material with an almond and faintly marzipan smell, adds a nutty sweetness right behind it. Tonka bean and vanilla then fill out the base, and the brand also mentions amber, so the finish is rounder than the opening suggests.

About the original

Juliette Has a Gun first released Liquid Illusion in 2018 as part of its Luxury Collection. The brand now sells a reworked Liquid Illusion in its Bold Collection, with a shorter official note list, and the notes on this page are those current ones. The 2018 version had a longer list that also included violet, tuberose and benzoin. No perfumer has been published for either version; the brand credits its founder, Romano Ricci, as creator.
