Vanilla Vibes, inspired by Juliette Has a Gun Vanilla Vibes (2019)

Salt is what you notice first: a mineral, faintly marine note that the brand builds from a salicylate rather than anything literally salty. Vanilla absolute follows almost immediately, and the salt keeps it dry and airy instead of sugary. Orchid adds a smooth floral tone in the middle. Brown musks and benzoin give the base some depth, with sandalwood and tonka bean running quietly underneath.

About the original

Released in spring 2019, Vanilla Vibes grew out of founder Romano Ricci wanting to work with vanilla while disliking overtly sweet notes, so he paired it with fleur de sel. Trade press credits Ricci as its creator; the brand's own site simply refers to the creator. It remains part of the Juliette Has a Gun range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Juliette Has a Gun stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Sweetness-averse vanilla fans are who this was made for. The salt gives it a fresh lift, but it is still a vanilla at heart, so it will not convert anyone who dislikes the note altogether.
