Mango Aoud, inspired by Gritti Mango Aoud (2024)

Mango and guava come first, ripe and tropical, with neroli cutting through the sweetness. Coconut milk, osmanthus (a blossom with an apricot-like tone) and ylang-ylang make the heart dense and milky. Underneath sits oud, joined by amber and vanilla, which darkens the fruit and gives it a smoky undertow. The contrast between tropical fruit and resinous wood is the whole point of the scent.

About the original

Gritti is an independent niche house from Venice, and Mango Aoud belongs to its Ivy Collection of extraits. Fragrance references date it to around 2024 and credit Luca Gritti, though no brand source confirming either was found. Gritti presents it as mango set against the dark side of oud. Ivy Collection bottles carry gold caps inspired by Luca Gritti's watch collection.

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Gritti stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

People who enjoy bold tropical gourmands will understand it immediately. It is divisive, though: the fruit is very sweet and the oud smoky, and fragrance references warn against buying it unsmelled. Anyone uneasy with coconut or with oud should sample first.
