Nightclubbing, inspired by Celine Nightclubbing (2019)

Galbanum, a plant resin with the bitter smell of cut stalks, opens Nightclubbing with a green freshness, and Celine pairs it with nicotine accents that add a faint, cigarette-like dryness. Orris butter then brings in powder, and patchouli an earthy darkness. Tree moss keeps the middle cool and mossy. The drydown is vanilla and musk, which Celine itself calls addictive.

About the original

Celine introduced Nightclubbing in November 2019 as part of its Haute Parfumerie collection. The brief looked back to Paris nightlife in the era of Le Palace and Les Bains Douches, and the house pitched it at night owls. Celine has not credited a perfumer. Celine also makes a Nightclubbing candle, though our reference is the eau de parfum.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Celine stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Night is its stated setting, and the smoke and moss lean that way. It suits someone who likes iris powder with an earthy, smoky undercurrent. The galbanum opening is bitter and green, which may feel abrupt to a buyer expecting a plain vanilla.

Celine describes nicotine accents in the opening. Next to the galbanum they read as a dry, tobacco-like note.

Is this the perfume or the candle?

The perfume. Celine also sells a Nightclubbing candle, which is a separate product.

Is Nightclubbing powdery?

Yes. Orris butter makes the heart powdery, though galbanum and patchouli stop it from feeling purely cosmetic.
