Oud for Greatness Neo, inspired by Initio Parfums Privés Oud for Greatness Neo (2024)

Neo keeps the saffron and oud core of Oud for Greatness and moves lavender and bergamot to the front. The opening is aromatic and citrusy, close to a barbershop feel, before saffron brings its leathery, slightly metallic spice. Fir balsam adds a resinous, piney tone. Agarwood, the resin-soaked wood that oud comes from, gives the base its depth.

About the original

Initio Parfums Privés, a Paris niche house, released Neo in 2024 together with Harrods' H Society, first as a Harrods exclusive in a box in Harrods green. It belongs to Initio's Black Gold Project and reworks Oud for Greatness, first released in 2018. Launch coverage called it much fresher and brighter than its predecessor. Initio now sells it through its own store as well.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Initio Parfums Privés stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Admirers of oud who find the original Oud for Greatness too dense may prefer this fresher reading. Lavender is prominent, giving it an aromatic, fougère-like side that not everyone expects from an oud. Saffron remains, so it still has a dark, spiced base.

Neo is a fresher, brighter reworking, with more bergamot and lavender at the top. Saffron and oud keep a dark base like the original's. We make Oud for Greatness too.

It launched through Harrods in 2024, but Initio now also sells it through its own store.
