Honey is the thread that ties this one together. It coats apple blossom, which has a fresh, faintly fruity floral tone, and orange blossom, which adds a heady white-flower depth. Vanilla deepens the sweetness as it wears, and the finish settles into musk with a powdery feel.

About the original

Addictive Vibration came out in 2016 within The Absolutes, an Initio Parfums Privés collection that also includes Blessed Baraka and Absolute Aphrodisiac. The house presents all its fragrances as unisex. Initio's own copy speaks of crisp apple blossom, white flowers, rich honey and vanilla orchid ending in a musk trail. It is frequently likened to Mugler Alien.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Initio Parfums Privés stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Dense and sugary rather than airy, it sits closer to honeyed musk than to a fresh bouquet. The sweetness, powder and musk are all pronounced and each has its critics, so a buyer who dislikes any of them is unlikely to get on with it.

Apple blossom and orange blossom lead, the first green and lightly fruity, the second fuller and more indolic, meaning it has the rich, slightly animal depth found in white flowers.

Honey sits beneath both, with vanilla rounding it into a dessert-like sweetness.
