Reptile, inspired by Celine Reptile (2019)

Cedar sets the tone straight away, dry and clean-edged. Pepper follows with a prickly spice, and a leather accord appears around it, smooth rather than tarry. Tree moss gives the heart a damp, forest-floor coolness. Over time it settles into musk with a powdery finish, still dry, with almost no sweetness.

About the original

Reptile launched in November 2019 in Celine's Haute Parfumerie collection, alongside Black Tie and Nightclubbing. Celine describes a progression from cedar through pepper and leather around tree moss to a musky, powdery trail. No perfumer has been named publicly. Celine sells it in 100 and 200 ml.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Celine stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Leather framed by wood and moss is what it offers, and it wears as a dry, refined scent. It is a good match for people who like their leather peppery rather than plush. Without vanilla or amber to cushion it, the effect can feel austere to wearers used to sweeter leathers.
