Soleil Brulant, inspired by Tom Ford Soleil Brûlant (2021)

A peppery citrus burst of pink pepper, mandarin and bergamot gives way quickly to orange blossom and black honey. The honey has a darker, almost caramelised tone, which is where comparisons with crème brûlée come from. Underneath, amber, resins and olibanum (frankincense) add a smoky glow, with leather, woods and vetiver giving the base backbone. Some noses pick up a faintly savoury or vegetal note in the honey.

About the original

Tom Ford added Soleil Brûlant to its Private Blend Soleil line in 2021, though some sources give 2020. It sat alongside Soleil Blanc and Soleil de Feu, both of which remain on sale. Soleil Brûlant is no longer listed on Tom Ford's US Soleil page and shows as sold out in the UK, and it is reported to have been discontinued.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Tom Ford stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Rich and sweet, with smoke underneath, it is darker than its sunny name suggests. Some noses detect a savoury or vegetal note in the honey, which is the main risk with it.

Is Tom Ford Soleil Brûlant discontinued?

It no longer appears in Tom Ford's US range and is sold out in the UK, and it is reported as discontinued. Tom Ford has not made an official statement that we have found.

How is it different from Soleil Blanc?

Soleil Blanc is a separate fragrance in the same line, still sold by Tom Ford. Soleil Brûlant is built on honey, orange blossom, amber and incense.
