Raghba, inspired by Lattafa Raghba

Sugar and vanilla dominate from the first spray, thick and confectionery-sweet. Underneath, agarwood (oud, a dark resinous wood) and incense add a smoky, slightly medicinal shade, though the sweetness keeps them in check. Sandalwood and musk round out the base, giving the whole composition a dense, amber-like depth.

About the original

Lattafa describes Raghba as an amber vanilla fragrance for women and men and sells it as a 100 ml eau de parfum with a 50 ml deodorant. The name has spawned flankers, notably Raghba Wood Intense (marketed to men) and Raghba for Man, which are separate scents. Some retailers attribute a Raghba to Ard Al Zaafaran, a different Dubai brand, but this page refers to Lattafa's original. Its launch year has not been reliably documented.

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Lattafa stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Richness is the point of Raghba, so it rewards wearers who enjoy heavy, sweet perfumes with some smoke. It feels dense rather than airy. The sugar and vanilla are pronounced and can seem cloying next to fresh or citrus scents.

Does Raghba smell of oud?

Oud is present but softened by sugar and vanilla, so it reads as smoky sweetness rather than a dry, dark oud.
