Sunny Side Up, inspired by Juliette Has a Gun Sunny Side Up (2017)

Sunny Side Up is a sandalwood scent first, smooth and milky from the opening. Vanilla and jasmine lactone, a material with a peachy, milky floral smell, wrap around the wood straight away. Iris butter adds a powdery, rooty softness in the heart while jasmine sambac keeps a floral thread running through. Ambrette, Iso E Super and salicylates give the base a sunlit, slightly velvety feel.

About the original

Composed by Romano Ricci, Sunny Side Up launched in summer 2017 and reached Harvey Nichols in the UK by August. Press copy described it as a soft woody floral meant as happy therapy, and the brand calls it addictive and lightly gourmand. Only one version exists, sold today in three sizes.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Juliette Has a Gun stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Someone who wants a comforting, creamy wood scent with more body than a plain musk will find a lot to like. The vanilla and milky sandalwood lean sweet, so it may feel cloying to those who prefer dry woods.

Does it smell like coconut?

Press copy for the original mentioned a coconut-milk accent, but coconut is not in the official notes. The milky impression mainly comes from sandalwood and jasmine lactone.
