Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62, inspired by Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa '62 (2017)

Pistachio sets the tone straight away, nutty and rich, with almond adding a marzipan smoothness. Heliotrope, a flower that smells of almond and powdery vanilla, links the nuts to the base, and jasmine petals give it some floral air. Salted caramel and vanilla then take over, sweet but with a savoury edge, while sandalwood keeps it from tipping into pure confectionery.

About the original

Sol de Janeiro released Brazilian Crush as a body fragrance mist in February 2017, first at Sephora. It was later labelled Cheirosa '62, a reference to Brazil in 1962, and it shares its scent with the brand's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. It was first sold as a hair and body mist; an eau de parfum version was added later. It is separate from the other numbered Cheirosa scents such as 40, 68 or 71. Sol de Janeiro does not market it to a particular gender.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Sol de Janeiro stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Sweetness is the first thing to know: this is a dessert-like scent from start to finish. Sol de Janeiro frames it as a 'holiday in a bottle', casual and sunny. Caramel and vanilla sit at its core, so it will not please a nose that leans towards dry or green perfumes.
