Chance Eau Fraiche, inspired by Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche (2007)

Eau Fraîche puts citrus first. Citron, a thick-skinned relative of the lemon with a more aromatic zest, opens it alongside lemon. Pink pepper and water hyacinth keep the middle airy, and the jasmine stays understated. Later the scent turns dry and woody, with teak wood, vetiver and patchouli rounded by white musk and a touch of amber.

About the original

Chanel released Chance Eau Fraîche in 2007 as the first variation on Chance (2002), again composed by Jacques Polge. The house calls it floral and sparkling, while its patchouli and vetiver base leads perfume databases to class it as a floral chypre. In August 2023 Olivier Polge added an eau de parfum version with aldehydes and amber. Our version is based on the original eau de toilette.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Chanel stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Compared with the original Chance, it feels lighter and less sweet, which makes it an uncomplicated everyday scent. It also suits people who want something clean without wearing a straightforward citrus cologne. The dry, woody base may disappoint anyone hoping for a plush or sugary floral.
