Chance, inspired by Chanel Chance Eau de Parfum (2005)

Pink pepper gives Chance a tingling, airy start that settles quickly. Jasmine carries the middle, and patchouli runs underneath, giving the sweetness a dry, slightly earthy structure. White musk and vanilla round off the finish, leaving it a little powdery.

About the original

Jacques Polge created Chance for Chanel in 2002, first as an Eau de Toilette and Parfum, with the Eau de Parfum following in 2005. Its round bottle was a departure from the house's rectangular flacons. The line grew into a family, including Eau Fraîche (2007), Eau Tendre (2010) and Eau Vive (2015). This page refers to the original Chance, not a flanker.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Chanel stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Anyone after an upbeat, polished floral with some structure will find it easy to wear. The patchouli gives it a clean, earthy backbone under the sweetness, and the musky, powdery finish may feel too sweet for lovers of very dry scents.

The original Chance. Eau Tendre and Eau Fraîche are separate flankers, and we make both as separate scents.

Is Chance very sweet?

Moderately. Vanilla and musk add sweetness, but patchouli gives the base structure.

Is it based on the Eau de Toilette or the Eau de Parfum?

This page refers to the Eau de Parfum from 2005, the main version Chanel sells. The 2002 Eau de Toilette is close in style but has a broader listed pyramid, including pineapple, hyacinth and lemon.
