Orange comes first, bright and green rather than sweet. Mint cools it with a leafy, herbal freshness. Moss sits underneath, giving the finish the dry, woody texture of a classic cologne.

About the original

Françoise Caron created it in 1979 as Eau de Cologne Hermès, and the house renamed it Eau d'Orange Verte in 1997. It became the starting point for what is now the Hermès Colognes collection. Hermès also sells a separate, stronger Concentré d'Orange Verte as an eau de toilette; this page refers to the original cologne.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Hermès stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Hermès sells it as unisex, and the style is old-school cologne: citrus, herbs and moss, with nothing sugary. Its mossy finish may strike a buyer used to modern fruity freshness as old-fashioned.

It is inspired by Eau d'Orange Verte, the original eau de cologne from 1979. Concentré d'Orange Verte is a separate, stronger eau de toilette version.

Yes. It was launched in 1979 as Eau de Cologne Hermès and took its current name in 1997.
