L'Eau Privée takes the floral heart of Coco Mademoiselle and removes most of its weight. Mandarin gives a brief, gentle brightness, then rose and jasmine take over in a hazy, diffused way. White musk holds everything together, so the drydown is smooth and faintly powdery.

About the original

Olivier Polge composed L'Eau Privée for Chanel in 2020 as a lighter interpretation of Coco Mademoiselle. Chanel presents it as a night fragrance, meant to be put on before bed as a private ritual rather than worn for going out, and Polge has described it as a veil. Chanel lists it within its Coco Mademoiselle range.

Who it suits
