Eden, inspired by Cacharel Eden (1994)

Eden sets the cool, pond-like freshness of water lily and lotus against an earthy base of patchouli. Fruit arrives early, with peach and citrus at the top and melon and pineapple woven into the flowers. Mimosa and tuberose give the heart a fuller floral body. That contrast between a watery heart and patchouli gives Eden more depth than most aquatic florals of its decade.

About the original

Cacharel launched Eden in 1994, and it is usually credited to Jean Guichard. The bottle is a jade-coloured pebble with veining that Cacharel says makes each one unique. A lighter flanker, Eau d'Eden, followed later as an eau de toilette. Eden itself is an eau de parfum and has no connection with Kayali's Eden collection, which comes from a different brand altogether.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Cacharel stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Someone who enjoys fresh, fruity florals but tires of their thinness will find the patchouli here satisfying. The heart is busy with flowers and fruit, so a buyer who wants a minimalist scent may find it crowded.

Patchouli leads the base, earthy and slightly green, alongside black locust (acacia flower), sandalwood, cedar and tonka bean.

Is Eden the same as Eau d'Eden?

No. Eau d'Eden is a lighter eau de toilette flanker. This page refers to the original Eden of 1994, an eau de parfum.

Is this related to Kayali's Eden perfumes?

No. Kayali's Eden collection is unrelated; this is Cacharel's Eden.

Does Eden smell aquatic?

In the floral sense, yes. Water lily and lotus give a cool, watery feel, while patchouli adds earthiness underneath.
