Magnolia & Mure, inspired by L'Occitane en Provence Magnolia & Mûre (2013)

Blackberry gives the first impression a dark, tart fruitiness, kept lively by bergamot. Magnolia follows, a lemony, slightly creamy white flower, and rose adds a fuller floral note beside it. Patchouli in the base pulls everything into a chypre shape: earthy and a little dry, so the fruit never turns syrupy. Overall it smells natural and fairly transparent rather than dense.

About the original

Magnolia & Mûre was part of L'Occitane's La Collection de Grasse, launched in 2013 and composed by Karine Dubreuil-Sereni. It pairs magnolia with blackberry. It is no longer listed on L'Occitane's fragrance pages, while sister scents from the same collection remain on sale.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not L'Occitane en Provence stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Women who like fruit in a perfume but dislike the sugary, jammy style should find this a good fit. It is light to moderate in weight and easy to wear. The patchouli base is noticeable, so anyone expecting a purely fresh, airy floral may find the finish earthier than they want.

Does L'Occitane still sell Magnolia & Mûre?

It no longer appears on L'Occitane's fragrance pages, and perfume fans report it as discontinued. Other scents from La Collection de Grasse are still sold.

No. It reads as tart, dark fruit, and the patchouli base keeps it from becoming sugary.
