Feerie Spring Blossom, inspired by Van Cleef & Arpels Féerie Spring Blossom (2013)

Spring Blossom starts on fruit and petals at once: lychee with its rosy, watery sweetness, cherry blossom and a green note of rose-bay. Pink pepper appears in the brand's description too, though not in every published list. Magnolia and peony form a clear, airy floral middle, with raspberry keeping it fruity. The base settles into white musk and tonka bean, a gently sweet, almond-like finish that stays light.

About the original

Van Cleef & Arpels released Féerie Spring Blossom in January 2013 as a limited-edition flanker of Féerie, the house's 2008 fragrance. It was sold as an Eau de Toilette. Osmoz credits the composition to Antoine Maisondieu of Givaudan. Where the original Féerie leans on violet and powder, this version moved towards fresh fruit and spring flowers. Féerie no longer appears among the fragrances on the brand's EU site, and the Spring Blossom edition is no longer produced.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Van Cleef & Arpels stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Lovers of sheer, pretty fruity florals will find it easy to wear, and its name and notes point to spring. Sweetness comes from the lychee, raspberry and tonka, so it reads candied in places. Its gentle, musky finish may feel too slight for someone after a dense, rich floral.

Magnolia and peony bring an open, slightly citrusy floral heart, and raspberry adds a jammy note that keeps the fruit going.

On skin it turns to white musk and tonka bean: clean, smooth and a little almond-sweet.

Is Féerie Spring Blossom discontinued?

It was a limited edition launched in 2013 and is no longer produced. Féerie itself is not listed on the Van Cleef & Arpels EU fragrance pages.

How does it differ from the original Féerie?

The 2008 Féerie is built around violet and has a powdery character. Spring Blossom is fruitier and fresher, with lychee, cherry blossom and raspberry.

Was the original an Eau de Toilette or an Eau de Parfum?

Retail listings and Osmoz give the original as a 50 ml Eau de Toilette. Our version is made as an eau de parfum.

Is Van Cleef & Arpels Feerie Spring Blossom coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Van Cleef & Arpels about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
