Si Rose Signature, inspired by Giorgio Armani Sì Rose Signature (2016)

Blackcurrant sets the tone, tart and dark-fruited, with mandarin and bergamot lifting it in the first minutes. Two roses form the heart: May rose (rose de mai), a fresh and honeyed variety, and Turkish rose, which is fuller and deeper. Freesia keeps the middle airy. Underneath, the structure leans towards a chypre, meaning a dry, grounded base, here made from patchouli and iris, with osmanthus adding an apricot tone and vanilla rounding the edges.

About the original

Armani released Sì Rose Signature in 2016 as a flanker of Sì, launched in 2013. It came as an eau de parfum in 50 and 100 ml bottles wrapped with a pale pink silk band. A year later Armani issued Sì Rose Signature II, a separate fragrance and not the one this page refers to. Sì Rose Signature is no longer listed on Armani's official Sì pages, while the original Sì eau de parfum is still sold.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Giorgio Armani stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Rose lovers who find many rose perfumes too dewy or too jammy are the natural audience, since patchouli and iris keep this one grounded. The vanilla is soft, set against darker patchouli. Blackcurrant is prominent at the start, so a buyer hoping for a single-flower rose soliflore should expect fruit first.

Blackcurrant opens with a tart, almost wine-like note, brightened by bergamot and mandarin.

The roses follow. May rose gives a fresh, petal-like layer and Turkish rose a fuller one, with freesia adding a clean, airy lift.

The drydown pairs powdery iris and apricot-toned osmanthus with ambrette, a musky plant seed, then patchouli and a measured amount of vanilla.

Is Armani Sì Rose Signature discontinued?

It no longer appears on Armani's official Sì pages in the UK, France, Germany or the US. The main Sì eau de parfum is still sold.

Is this Sì Rose Signature or Sì Rose Signature II?

This is the first Sì Rose Signature, from 2016. Sì Rose Signature II followed in 2017 as a separate flanker.

How does it differ from the original Sì?

It keeps the blackcurrant of Sì but puts a double rose at the centre, with iris and osmanthus joining patchouli in the base. We also make the original Sì.

Is Giorgio Armani Si Rose Signature coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Giorgio Armani that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
