Burberry Sport, inspired by Burberry Sport for Men (2010)

Ginger is the engine of this scent. It arrives with grapefruit in a spiky, effervescent opening, and a note of wheat adds a dry, grainy touch. Sea notes, red ginger and juniper berries keep it moving through the heart, cool and slightly gin-like. Cedar, dry amber and musk form a clean, light base.

About the original

Burberry released Sport for Men in February 2010, together with Sport for Women, and the bottles came with a red rubber grip that matched the athletic theme. Sonia Constant, Nathalie Gracia-Cetto and Antoine Maisondieu are credited as its perfumers. Later flankers included Sport Ice. It has been reported as discontinued by perfume databases, while Burberry's men's range now centres on Hero and Mr Burberry.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Burberry stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Summer and casual daytime wear are its natural setting, and that is where its sporty lightness makes sense. It is uncomplicated and fresh, so anyone after depth or sweetness will want something richer.

Is this the men's or the women's Burberry Sport?

The men's, from 2010. Burberry Sport for Women, launched alongside it, is a different citrus floral that we also make.

Is Burberry Sport for Men discontinued?

It is listed as discontinued by fragrance references and no longer appears in Burberry's men's range. We have not found a date or an official statement.

Does it smell of ginger?

Yes. Ginger appears in both the opening and the heart, which makes it the defining note.

Is Burberry Sport coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Burberry that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days.
