Flower L'Elixir, inspired by Kenzo Flower by Kenzo L'Elixir (2015)

Raspberry sets the tone, dense and sugary, with mandarin adding a citrus glow at the top. The floral middle pairs Bulgarian rose with orange blossom, full and rounded rather than green. Praline and Bourbon vanilla then take the lead over a powdery accord, giving a distinctly gourmand finish.

About the original

Alberto Morillas, who composed the original Flower by Kenzo in 2000, created L'Elixir as an eau de parfum flanker launched in autumn 2015. Launch material described it as powerful and sensual, with a touch of sweetness. The bottle kept Serge Mansau's Flower silhouette in dark red with gold poppies. It no longer appears in Kenzo's range, which now includes Flower by Kenzo L'Absolue (2022), a different fragrance with a similar name.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Kenzo stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Raspberry, praline and vanilla make it a dessert-leaning floral, with powder on top. It will please lovers of gourmand roses, but the cooler, cleaner character of a classic floral is not what it offers.

Is Kenzo Flower L'Elixir discontinued?

It is no longer listed in Kenzo's Flower range, and it appears to have been withdrawn. Remaining bottles still turn up at some retailers.

Is L'Elixir the same as Flower by Kenzo L'Absolue?

No. L'Elixir dates from 2015; L'Absolue is a separate flanker launched in 2022 and still sold by Kenzo.

How does it differ from the original Flower by Kenzo?

L'Elixir is a sweeter, more gourmand flanker, built on raspberry, rose, praline and vanilla.

Is Kenzo Flower L'Elixir coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Kenzo that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
