La Vie Est Belle Intensement, inspired by Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Intensément (2020)

Raspberry leads, sharpened by pink pepper and bergamot so it reads tangy rather than syrupy. Beneath it, jasmine sambac and orange blossom give a full floral middle, and heliotrope (a flower that smells of almond and powder) softens everything. The finish is iris and vanilla, joined by benzoin, sandalwood and patchouli. Overall it is sweet and powdery, a velvet texture more than a sugary one.

About the original

Lancôme released La Vie Est Belle Intensément in February 2020 as an Eau de Parfum Intense in the La Vie Est Belle family, which started in 2012. The brand built it around what it called red notes, chiefly raspberry and red iris, combining elements of the original in a new way. It sits alongside other variations such as L'Éclat and Iris Absolu, each with a different emphasis.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Lancôme stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Fans of La Vie Est Belle who want a richer variation for cooler months may find it a natural fit. Its texture is rich and powdery, and the sweetness is clear from start to finish. If heliotrope powder or vanilla feel cloying to you, the lighter flankers may sit better.

Lancôme built it around red notes, a raspberry accord on top and red iris with vanilla in the base, borrowing elements of the original in a new combination.

Yes, fairly. Heliotrope and iris give it a soft, cosmetic powder alongside the vanilla.
