Couleur Violet

Couleur Violet, inspired by Kenzo Couleur Kenzo Violet (2014)

Blueberry and red currant open it in a burst of tart, dark fruit. Violet follows, powdery and faintly sweet, paired with a marmalade note that gives the heart a jammy, cooked-fruit texture. Black currant closes it, described at launch as frozen, so the finish stays cool and tangy rather than heavy.

About the original

Jean Jacques composed Couleur Kenzo Violet, added to the Couleur Kenzo line in March 2014 after Pink and Yellow debuted the previous spring. At launch, Violet was described as a scent of purple ingredients: blueberry, violet and black currant. It was sold as a 50 ml eau de parfum. The Couleur Kenzo range no longer appears on Kenzo's official fragrance pages.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Kenzo stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its mood is playful and fruit-led, with berries in front of the flowers. The texture is airy despite the jam note. Expect clear berry sweetness and a powdery violet streak throughout.

Violet and marmalade fill the heart: powdery petals against a sticky, cooked-orange sweetness. Black currant dominates the drydown, cool and slightly sour, keeping the finish fresh.

Is Couleur Kenzo Violet discontinued?

It no longer appears on Kenzo's official site, and it is widely reported as discontinued alongside the rest of the Couleur Kenzo line.

How does Violet differ from Couleur Kenzo Pink or Yellow?

Each scent in the line had its own colour theme. Violet was built around purple ingredients: blueberry, violet and black currant.

Is Kenzo Couleur Violet coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Kenzo that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
