Wisteria & Violet, inspired by Jo Malone London Wisteria & Violet Cologne (2014)

The idea is spring rain on purple wisteria against London stone, and the notes keep to it: water lily gives a cool, aquatic sheen, while wisteria adds a pale, honeyed floral tone. Violet brings a powdery, slightly sweet petal note. Patchouli is listed for the base, lending a faint earthy shade under the flowers.

About the original

Wisteria & Violet belonged to London Rain, a limited-edition set of four colognes that Christine Nagel created for Jo Malone London in March 2014. The others were Rain & Angelica, White Jasmine & Mint and Black Cedarwood & Juniper. It was sold as a 100 ml cologne and, as a limited edition, is no longer produced. Wisteria & Lavender (2020) is an unrelated Jo Malone London scent.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Fans of watery florals, the kind that smell of damp petals rather than a perfume counter, will enjoy it. Violet gives it a powdery side, which may not appeal if you want a purely fresh aquatic.

No. Wisteria & Lavender is a separate Jo Malone London fragrance from 2020.

Partly. Violet adds a powdery petal note, but water lily keeps the overall impression fresh and watery.

Is Jo Malone London Wisteria & Violet coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Jo Malone London about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
