Wish, inspired by Chopard Wish (1999)

Wish begins with fruit and nectar: strawberry gives a jammy note and honeysuckle a sappy floral one. The heart is where it turns gourmand, with a milk accord and honey wrapped around orchid, magnolia and jasmine. Underneath, vanilla and amber settle with sandalwood, while patchouli and a thread of incense stop the base from going entirely sugary.

About the original

Chopard introduced Wish around 1999 in a faceted blue glass bottle shaped like a cut gemstone, although one database dates it to 1997. No perfumer has been credited with confidence. In reviews it is described as a gourmand that is less overpowering than Mugler's Angel. Brilliant Wish and Wish Pink Diamond came later as separate fragrances; this page refers to the original Wish.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Chopard stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Fans of dessert-like scents who want something gentler than Angel are the natural audience. Milk, honey and vanilla run through it from the heart onwards, so it will likely feel cloying to anyone whose taste runs to dry, green or citrus perfumes.

How sweet is Chopard Wish?

Noticeably sweet. Honey, milk and vanilla dominate the heart and base, though incense and patchouli keep it from smelling purely like dessert.
