Goldea The Roman Night, inspired by Bvlgari Goldea The Roman Night (2017)

Dark fruit and spice come first: mulberry with bergamot and a dash of black pepper. Night-blooming jasmine and tuberose then fill out a rich floral heart, with black peony and rose alongside. The drydown moves into black musk, patchouli and vetiver, and moss gives a slightly earthy, chypre-like finish. Sensual rather than sugary, it reads as a nocturnal take on the fruity floral.

About the original

Alberto Morillas composed Goldea The Roman Night, launched by Bvlgari in September 2017 as the third fragrance in the Goldea line. Bella Hadid fronted a campaign shot in Rome, and the scent came in a round black bottle. A different composition, Goldea The Roman Night Absolute, followed in 2018. Bvlgari's current Goldea page shows only the Rose Goldea Blossom Delight range, and the 2017 eau de parfum is no longer listed.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Bvlgari stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Made with evenings in mind, it pairs fruit and white flowers with a musky, earthy base. Tuberose fans will enjoy the heart, but the musk and patchouli in the drydown may feel too dark for lovers of airy florals.

Is Goldea The Roman Night discontinued?

It no longer appears in Bvlgari's fragrance range, and the brand's Goldea page now shows only Rose Goldea Blossom Delight. Remaining bottles mostly come from third-party sellers.

Is this the 2017 Roman Night or the Absolute?

The 2017 eau de parfum. The 2018 Absolute is a separate composition with black plum, orange blossom and vanilla.

Is this the same as Bvlgari Goldea?

No. Goldea is an earlier, separate fragrance in the same line, which we also make.

Is Bvlgari Goldea The Roman Night coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Bvlgari that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days.
