Si Intense, inspired by Giorgio Armani Sì Intense (2014)

Blackcurrant dominates the first impression, dense and jam-like, with mandarin, bergamot and freesia around it. May rose then comes forward, plush rather than dewy, with neroli and osmanthus adding a faintly apricot floral tone and davana a boozy, fruity herb note. Vanilla builds as it settles. Patchouli, ambroxan and woods give the base a little grain, so the sweetness never goes fully gourmand.

About the original

Armani introduced Sì Intense in 2014, a year after Sì, and brought it to the United States in 2016. Christine Nagel and Julie Massé are credited with it, and the brand called it a modern chypre, denser than the original. Now Smell This found it sweeter than usual for Armani, with a pronounced cassis opening. In 2023 Armani reworked it as Sì Eau de Parfum Intense, with black tea and bourbon vanilla in a refillable bottle; this page follows the 2014 composition.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Giorgio Armani stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Evenings and cooler weather are where it fits best. Wearers who enjoyed Sì but felt it was too light will find more body here. The cassis is pronounced and the overall effect sweet, so anyone wanting a dry chypre may be disappointed.

It is based on the 2014 Sì Intense. Armani reworked it in 2023 as Sì Eau de Parfum Intense, with a revised note list that includes black tea.

How does Sì Intense compare with Sì?

Armani presented it as a denser version of Sì. It opens on pronounced cassis and settles into rose and vanilla.
