Innocent (Angel), inspired by Mugler Innocent (1998)

Innocent opens with tangy mandarin and bergamot, a sparkling citrus start. Blackcurrant and red berries follow, and almond brings in a sugared, confectionery note at the heart. Praline, amber and white musk round off the base. Angel's heavy patchouli is absent, so the gourmand side feels lighter and more airy.

About the original

Mugler introduced Innocent in 1998, composed by Laurent Bruyère, and it was later sold as Angel Innocent. The brand described it as a sparkling cloud of tangy citrus and fruit paired with a gourmand cloud of praline and sugared almond. It is often called Angel's younger sibling. Some sources suggest it was reintroduced at some point, but Mugler's official page now states that it has been discontinued and points customers to Angel instead.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Mugler stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Daytime suits it, particularly for someone drawn to Angel's sweetness without its weight. The praline and sugared almond make it clearly gourmand. Beside the darker, patchouli-led Angel it is noticeably lighter and fruitier.

Is Innocent the same as Angel?

No. It belongs to the Angel family but has no heavy patchouli, focusing on citrus, berries and praline.

Are Innocent and Angel Innocent the same scent?

Yes. The 1998 fragrance was later sold under the name Angel Innocent.

Is Mugler Innocent (Angel) coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Mugler that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
