Womanity, inspired by Mugler Womanity (2010)

Womanity pairs sweet with salty in a way few mainstream perfumes attempt. The fig is ripe and fruity, the leaf adds a green bite, and the caviar accord brings a mineral, briny saltiness that sits right under the fruit. As it wears, fig wood gives the composition a dry frame. Mugler described its structure as three accords: woody, sweet and salty.

About the original

Alexis Dadier and Ralf Schwieger of Mane composed Womanity, which Mugler launched in 2010, eighteen years after Angel. Its caviar note was the talking point, a savoury, marine element paired with fig. Flankers followed, including The Taste of Fragrance Womanity and a leather edition. Mugler's own website now states that the fragrance has been discontinued.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Mugler (Thierry Mugler) stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Collectors of unconventional fragrances will appreciate how strange it is. The salt and fig contrast is polarising, and some wearers find the briny side unsettling. It is a poor choice for someone after a conventional, pretty floral.

The opening is fruity and green: ripe fig with the leafy sharpness of fig leaf.

Caviar then comes forward, adding a savoury saltiness that feels mineral, almost marine, under the fruit.

Fig wood carries the drydown, dry and gently sweet, with the salty accord lingering beneath it.

Is Mugler Womanity discontinued?

Yes. Mugler's official site lists Womanity as discontinued.

What does caviar smell like in a perfume?

It is an accord rather than real caviar: a salty, savoury note with a mineral, slightly marine feel. In Womanity it is set against sweet fig.

Is this the original Womanity or a flanker?

The original 2010 Eau de Parfum, not The Taste of Fragrance or the leather edition.

Is Mugler (Thierry Mugler) Womanity coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Mugler (Thierry Mugler) that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
