Chloé Love arrived in 2010, composed by Louise Turner and Natalie Gracia Cetto. The brief was an iris-led floral built around hyacinth, wisteria, and a soft talc and rice powder base. The composition became famous among iris enthusiasts for its slightly retro powdered character, halfway between modern feminine and grand Parisian classic. Chloé discontinued it some years later, and original bottles now sell at substantial premiums through resale channels, often with mixed authenticity reports. Many wearers have spent years searching for replacement bottles. Our interpretation gives the composition a second life at proper concentration.

How It Smells

The opening is soft and slightly cool, hyacinth and orange blossom giving a clean wet floral character with pink pepper adding a quiet spicy edge. Within fifteen minutes the powdered floral heart emerges: iris dominates, rendered with the cool grey violet powdered character that makes iris one of the most distinctive notes in perfumery, with lilac and wisteria adding a soft delicate floral support. The base is the perfume’s signature element. Talc, rice powder, heliotropine, and white musk combine into one of the most distinctly powdered drydowns in modern designer perfumery, soft and almost baby-skin-clean in feel. It reads quietly luxurious, slightly retro, undeniably feminine.

Is the original really discontinued?
