Poudree Narciso

Poudree Narciso, inspired by Narciso Rodriguez NARCISO Eau de Parfum Poudrée (2016)

Poudrée begins with rose, jasmine and a touch of orange blossom, but the flowers are quickly veiled. What gives it its name is the powder: pale, slightly vanilla-tinged, like a compact opened on a dressing table. Beneath that, musk and cedar form a dry woody frame, with vetiver and patchouli keeping the sweetness in check. The effect is tender without becoming cloying.

About the original

Aurélien Guichard composed Poudrée in 2016 as a flanker of NARCISO (2014). Its bottle is lacquered in blush pink, matching its gentler character. Its base is a rich woody musk, with the powder kept to a light, vanilla-tinged veil. It remains part of the NARCISO collection alongside Radiante, Cristal and Ambrée.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Narciso Rodriguez stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its texture is the main attraction: cashmere-soft and quiet, more comforting than seductive. Nothing about it is loud or sugary. Powder-averse noses, or people who find it old-fashioned, would do better with a fresher option.

The heart is musk, round and skin-like, the same thread that runs through the NARCISO family.

Cedar and vetiver dry it out at the end, while coumarin, which smells a little like hay and almond, and patchouli add a gentle depth.

How powdery is Poudrée?

Noticeably, but not heavily. The powder is a light, pale veil over the flowers rather than a dense talc effect.

How does it differ from NARCISO Cristal?

Cristal (2022) is brighter, with bergamot and freesia. Poudrée is softer and woodier, with more powder and cedar.
