Nuit D'Issey Bleu Astral, inspired by Issey Miyake Nuit d'Issey Bleu Astral (2017)

Bleu Astral opens on lime with Russian coriander, a seed spice that smells citrusy and faintly floral. Launch coverage lists the heart as a skin note and databases as leather, which gives the citrus a darker undertone. Amber woods finish it, adding a dry base under the zest.

About the original

Issey Miyake released Nuit d'Issey Bleu Astral in February 2017 as a limited edition, a 75 ml Eau de Toilette in a midnight blue bottle, according to French launch coverage. It belonged to the Nuit d'Issey sub-collection of L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme, after Nuit d'Issey (2014), Nuit d'Issey Parfum and Austral Expedition (both 2015). The brand announced it as a romantic scent evoking a dark blue starry sky. No Nuit d'Issey product is listed on Issey Miyake's site any longer.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Issey Miyake stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Lime keeps it fresh at the start, but leather and amber woods make it moodier than the parent L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme. Leather is the note to be aware of if you prefer purely clean citrus.

It was released in 2017 as a limited edition and no longer appears in Issey Miyake's range. Several retailers now list it as unavailable.

Is this the same as Nuit d'Issey Austral Expedition?

No. Austral Expedition (2015) is a separate flanker with a similar name; this page is based on Bleu Astral (2017).

Is Issey Miyake Nuit D'Issey Bleu Astral coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Issey Miyake about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
