Nuit De Feu, inspired by Louis Vuitton Nuit de Feu (2020)

Nuit de Feu means 'night of fire', and LV built it around a desert campfire after dark. Incense leads, resinous and smoky, followed by a leather note that Louis Vuitton produces in-house as a natural infusion. Oud wood and a powerful musky accord form the base. It stays smoky and dark from start to finish, never turning gourmand.

About the original

Presented by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud in 2020 as a tribute to the olfactory heritage of the Middle East, Nuit de Feu was released there first before a wider launch. Some sources date it to 2021, possibly because that wider release was delayed. It sits in LV's oud line next to Ombre Nomade and Les Sables Roses and is still sold.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Louis Vuitton stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Smoke defines it, so this belongs with lovers of incense and leather, and its profile points to evenings in autumn and winter. A wearer looking for sweet amber or freshness will find nothing of that here.

Incense opens it, dry and churchy, with the first traces of leather underneath.

The leather infusion then takes the centre, supple and smoky, with musk rising around it.

Oud wood closes it, dark and woody, holding the smoke to the end.

Is Nuit de Feu very smoky?

Yes. Incense leads, and the leather and oud beneath it keep the scent dark and smoky.

How does Nuit de Feu compare with Ombre Nomade?

Both pair oud with incense. Ombre Nomade softens it with benzoin balm, whereas Nuit de Feu adds leather and a strong musk, so it reads drier and more leathery.
