Rush Man, inspired by Gucci Rush for Men (2000)

Lavender and cypress set a crisp aromatic tone, herbal and resinous, like a conifer hedge after rain. Juniper, the berry used to flavour gin, brings a fresh spicy bite to the heart alongside cedar. Sandalwood runs from the middle into the base, smooth and slightly milky. Patchouli and white musk finish it with a faintly powdery cleanness.

About the original

Gucci Rush for Men appeared in 2000 as the men's counterpart to the women's Gucci Rush of 1999, with Daniela Andrier and Antoine Maisondieu credited as its perfumers. The two share a name but are entirely different fragrances. The women's Rush is reported to have returned to production, while collectors and fragrance references describe the men's version as withdrawn and scarce.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Gucci stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Men who like lavender but find classic fougères too old-fashioned may enjoy its cleaner woody take. It is fresh at the start and smooth in the drydown. Those after a sweet or ambery scent will find it too dry.

Collectors and fragrance references report it as withdrawn. We could not verify Gucci's current range directly.

Is this the men's or the women's Gucci Rush?

The men's, from 2000. The women's Rush (1999) is a different fragrance.

Is Gucci Rush Man coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Gucci that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
