Legend Night, inspired by Montblanc Legend Night (2017)

Cool mint and cardamom lead, with clary sage and bergamot keeping the start herbal. Apple and lavender come through next, and violet adds a slightly powdery note. Akigalawood, a patchouli-derived material with a peppery, woody smell, sits in the base beside black vanilla husk. Musk and vetiver round off an aromatic, woody drydown.

About the original

Legend Night was released in 2017 as an Eau de Parfum flanker of Montblanc Legend (2011). It is usually credited to Antoine Maisondieu and Olivier Pescheux, although Montblanc has not confirmed this. Montblanc's own collection page still describes its notes, but the scent is no longer listed among the Legend fragrances on sale, and its old product pages now redirect to the general range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Montblanc stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Vanilla gives it a smooth, rounded finish, so it suits men who like aromatic scents with some sweetness underneath. Mint and sage keep the opening fresh. Violet and lavender also lend a slightly powdery edge, which may not suit those wanting a crisp, clean scent.

Is Montblanc Legend Night discontinued?

It is no longer listed by Montblanc, and its official product pages now redirect to the general fragrance range. The brand has not issued a statement.

Is it sweet?

There is vanilla in the base, so it has a smooth sweetness, but mint, sage and lavender keep the scent aromatic.

Is Montblanc Legend Night coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Montblanc that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
