Terra Di Gioia, inspired by Giorgio Armani Terra di Gioia (2021)

Terra di Gioia opens with a sparkling pear accord, lifted by bergamot and mandarin. Jasmine grandiflorum follows, fruity and velvety, while almond blossom gives the flowers a faintly nutty edge. Underneath, musk and amber wood settle into a quiet, enveloping trail. Amber wood is a modern woody material with a dry, gently sweet glow, so the base feels polished rather than heavy.

About the original

Armani released Terra di Gioia in spring 2021 as part of the Acqua di Gioia family, in which each flanker stands for a natural element; this one represents earth, and it came in a terracotta-coloured bottle. Fabrice Pellegrin, Nathalie Lorson and Honorine Blanc composed it, and Barbara Palvin fronted the campaign. It no longer appears in the Acqua di Gioia range on Armani's sites in the UK, the US, France, Germany and Italy, although some retailers still hold stock.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Giorgio Armani stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Someone who enjoys pear-led florals with a clean musky finish will feel at home with it. The body is light and the jasmine is fruity rather than heady, which means fans of dense ambers or spice may find it too gentle.

It no longer appears in Armani's fragrance range in the UK, the US, France, Germany or Italy, though some retailers still sell remaining stock.
