Vanille Fleur

Vanille Fleur, inspired by M. Micallef Vanille Fleur (2012)

Peach opens Vanille Fleur with a ripe, velvety fruitiness. Rose follows in the heart, and the vanilla underneath it makes itself felt early on. The collection used natural Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar, and it gives the drydown a smooth, rounded depth. Most descriptions call the vanilla easy to wear, while some find the floral layer rather thin.

About the original

Vanille Fleur belonged to M. Micallef's Art Collection Vanille of 2012, four scents that each paired vanilla with a different family; this was the floral one, alongside Vanille Marine, Vanille Orient and Vanille Cuir. Jean-Claude Astier is usually credited as the perfumer, with Geoffrey Nejman sometimes named as co-author. It is not the same as Note Vanillée, which Micallef still sells. Vanille Fleur no longer appears in the brand's online catalogue, and nor does any other scent from that collection.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not M. Micallef stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Romantics who find straight vanillas too foody may prefer this, as the rose and peach give it a floral shape. Anyone after a pronounced rose may find the flowers take a back seat to the vanilla.

Rose sits in the heart, light and slightly powdery, set against the rising vanilla.

The base is Bourbon vanilla, smooth and rich, carrying most of the scent's character on skin.

Is M. Micallef Vanille Fleur discontinued?

It no longer appears in the brand's online catalogue, along with the rest of the Art Collection Vanille. Micallef has not issued a statement.

Is this the same as Micallef Note Vanillée?

No. Note Vanillée is a separate vanilla scent in Micallef's current range; Vanille Fleur was part of the 2012 Art Collection Vanille.

Is M. Micallef Vanille Fleur coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from M. Micallef that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
