Bad Boy, inspired by Carolina Herrera Bad Boy (2019)

Bad Boy plays on contrast. Bergamot and two peppers, pink and white, make the start bright and prickly. Clary sage and cedarwood give the heart an herbal, woody dryness. Then tonka bean and cocoa take over, and the scent turns darker and sweeter, though Carolina Herrera classes it as ambery aromatic rather than gourmand.

About the original

Carolina Herrera launched Bad Boy in 2019, first in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and travel retail, with a wider rollout in 2020. Quentin Bisch and Louise Turner composed it under creative director Carolina Herrera de Báez. The midnight blue bottle is shaped like a lightning bolt, designed as the men's counterpart to Good Girl's stiletto, and British actor Ed Skrein fronted the campaign. Cobalt, Extreme, Le Parfum and Elixir versions came later.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Carolina Herrera stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Nights out and cooler weather suit it best. Cocoa and tonka make the drydown noticeably sweeter than the peppery opening suggests, which may not suit a man looking for a daytime fresh scent.

Is this the original Bad Boy or a flanker?

It is inspired by the original 2019 Bad Boy eau de toilette. Bad Boy Gold Fantasy, which we also make, and versions such as Cobalt and Le Parfum are separate fragrances.

Does Bad Boy smell of chocolate?

There is a cocoa note in the base, paired with tonka bean. It reads as dark and lightly sweet rather than like confectionery.
