Fierce

Fierce, inspired by Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce (2002)

Fierce opens with a cool, resinous fir note set against lemon, orange and a salty sea accord, while petitgrain (the green, slightly bitter oil of citrus leaves and twigs) and cardamom keep it brisk. Rosemary and sage give the heart a herbal clarity, with jasmine, rose and lily-of-the-valley taking the edge off. The drydown is musky and woody: vetiver and oakmoss lend an earthy, mossy depth, with rosewood and sandalwood beneath.

About the original

Abercrombie & Fitch introduced Fierce in 2002 as its signature men's cologne. It became closely associated with the brand's shops, where it is known for being sprayed on the shop floor. Christophe Laudamiel and Bruno Jovanovic are usually credited with the formula, though attributions vary. Several flankers followed, including Fierce Icon in 2015, Fierce Reserve and Fierce Confidence, and the original is still part of the brand's range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Abercrombie & Fitch stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Anyone who remembers walking into an Abercrombie & Fitch shop will recognise the style: musky, mossy and clean. That base gives it more weight than a citrus cologne, which may not suit someone looking for something sheer.

How is Fierce different from Fierce Icon?

Fierce is the 2002 original, a woody aromatic with fir, herbs and musk. Fierce Icon (2015) is a flanker built on bergamot, leatherwood and black pepper, with a more peppery character. We make both.
