Legend Blue, inspired by Montblanc Legend Blue (2024)

Mint comes first, a cool spearmint rather than a candied one, with lavender giving it an aromatic, slightly herbal frame. Within a short while the freshness gives way to dry cedarwood and a smoother layer of sandalwood. Ambroxan, a modern ambergris material with a clean, salty-woody glow, carries the base, and a touch of moss keeps it from feeling glossy. The overall impression is tidy and cool rather than sweet.

About the original

Montblanc introduced Legend Blue in 2024 as an eau de parfum flanker of its Legend line, which is made under licence by Interparfums. Press coverage of the launch pointed to the clear blue glass bottle, described as the first clear bottle in the main Montblanc range outside special editions. The brand itself highlights three key notes: green mint, cedarwood and ambroxan. We have not found a perfumer credit from Montblanc or the launch press.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Montblanc stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Launch press presents it as a versatile scent for everyday and office wear that does not overpower. Anyone hoping for a sweet scent may find it austere, and the mint is noticeable in the first minutes.

The top is mint-led: spearmint with lavender, green and cool on the skin.

Cedarwood takes over in the heart, pencil-dry and clean, with sandalwood rounding the edges.

Later, ambroxan gives a faintly salty, mineral warmth, and moss adds a shaded, earthy note underneath.
