Under The Sea Man, inspired by Carolina Herrera CH Men Under the Sea (2021)

Juniper gives the opening a crisp, gin-like bite, and angelica root adds a peppery, earthy herbal note. Watery notes come in next with violet leaf, which smells green and cucumber-like rather than floral. Towards the base it turns woody: cashmeran, a musky wood material with a suede-like feel, lies over a touch of vanilla.

About the original

Carolina Herrera launched CH Men Under the Sea in spring 2021 as a limited-edition flanker of CH Men (2009), released as a 100 ml eau de parfum. Its bottle was covered in deep blue velvet with an orange lobster patch, a gold cap and studs. A women's partner, CH Under the Sea, came out at the same time. It belongs to the CH line, not to Bad Boy.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Carolina Herrera stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Although the name suggests a marine scent, the sea here plays a supporting role: the heart is green and resinous, and the base is woody. That balance makes it a fresh scent with some substance. The vanilla is only a small part of it, so it will disappoint men looking for a sugary drydown.

Juniper and angelica root give the first minutes a spicy, aromatic freshness with a watery edge.

Violet leaf leads the heart, green and resinous, with the watery notes still present.

Cashmeran and vanilla make up the drydown, woody and musky with a mild sweetness.

It was released in 2021 as a limited edition and is no longer produced.

Is this the men's or the women's Under the Sea?

The men's version, a flanker of CH Men. CH Under the Sea for women was released at the same time, and we make that too.

Does it smell like the sea?

Partly. Watery notes run through it, but juniper, violet leaf and woods give it more of a green, aromatic character than a typical marine scent.

Is Carolina Herrera Under The Sea Man coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Carolina Herrera about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
