Awake, inspired by Akro Awake (2018)

Awake smells of freshly roasted coffee with a squeeze of lemon. Green cardamom adds a cool, spiced aroma in the heart, much like cardamom added to coffee. The base is Haitian vetiver, dry and earthy. The coffee stays recognisable as it softens.

About the original

Akro released Awake in 2018 as part of its launch range. The brand was founded by perfumer Olivier Cresp and his daughter Anaïs Cresp, and retailers credit the scent to Olivier Cresp. It nods to the coffee at Bluebelles of Portobello in London. The brand describes the mood as a warm coffee shop on a cold day.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Akro stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Cooler weather is the brand's framing. It feels cosy and bold, more roasted than sweet. Anyone expecting a sugary coffee gourmand may find it too dry.
