Bleecker Street, inspired by Bond No. 9 Bleecker Street (2005)

Bleecker Street opens green and fruity, with violet leaf and cassis (blackcurrant) given an aromatic twist by thyme. Cinnamon and cedar slowly turn it woody and spiced, with jasmine in the background. The drydown is where the gourmand side shows: amber and vanilla over suede and oakmoss, sweet without weight. Patchouli stays quiet throughout.

About the original

Bond No. 9 released Bleecker Street in autumn 2005, alongside the opening of its Bleecker Street boutique in New York. It was created by David Apel of Givaudan. The brand describes it as a woody-gourmand oriental with dessert-like sweetness that is not too heavy, and its own FAQ says it leans masculine, although it is sold as unisex. Bond's description also mentions caramel, which is not in the published composition.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Bond No. 9 stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Bond positions it as a scent that moves from day into evening. Its green start and amber-vanilla finish make it approachable for people who find full gourmands too sugary. Cinnamon and suede give it a spiced, faintly leathery character that may not appeal to fans of very fresh scents.
